Guinness Microbrewery and Culture Hub Worth £73m to be Built in London

Guinness isn’t owned by an Irish company anymore. But we still all feel allegiance to it.  So it seems like good news that the parent company of the stout has announced a plan to invest £73 million in ‘Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard.’

It is a new microbrewery and culture hub in Covent Garden, London, set to open in Autumn 2023.

Old Brewer’s Yard first brewed beer back in 1722. 300 years later, the dark pint will be bringing the site back to the love of alcoholic beverages. The proposed building almost looks like an edit-copy-edit-paste of the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

Why London? Guinness sales in Great Britain have grown by over 30% in the last six months and 1 in every 10 pints sold in London is now a Guinness.

The new site will cover locations linking Mercer Walk, Langley Street, Neal Street and Shelton Street.

Guinness Experiences

There will be a microbrewery which will produce limited edition beers and offer guests tours. Beer specialists will be on hand to help people taste/enjoy and learn about the iconic stout, its storied history and ambitions for the future.

The Guinness store will be selling rare items. There will be the chance to try exciting new brews, some only available at ‘Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard.’

Food is promised: There will be an open-fire kitchen, restaurant and 360 degrees glass rooftop space within the development.

Diageo owns the Guinness brand. They also own Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Bulleit and Buchanan’s whiskies, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Casamigos, DeLeon and Don Julio tequilas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, and Tanqueray.

The venue will also be hosting events. So if you are having an Irish family reunion in London, this could be your place.
