Life in the Far Future, According to our Psychic
“Life in the Far Future, According to our Psychic” delves into the intriguing predictions and visions offered by a psychic, revealing what might await humanity in the distant future. Explore fascinating insights into technological advancements, societal changes, and everyday life as foreseen by a gifted seer.
Many of you follow our pages and are stumped when our predictions come true! And many of you know that we have an inhouse psychic who makes these predictions for us. He likes to fly under the radar, not revealing his identity. However he is becoming more famous as his predictions get wider notice. Here, we interview him about the far away future. He explains to us some of his amazing visions.
A lot of people are fearful about the future. While we humans are good at wrecking the joint, we are also good at fixing problems. The future isn’t ideal, and we will have many self-inflicted problems, however there will be some really good stuff about the future too.
People will be moving to cities in record numbers as farming becomes automated. As such our living areas (super high-rises) become the centre of our technology experiments. Buildings are all people are talking about…what can your building do? How many facilities does it have? Etc. I even see some buildings turning with the sun, to make the most of light absorption and heat. I see the phrase “sci-rise” as in science-highrise being used for the high-tech superstructures. These buildings will be vertical cities in every sense: with a whole series of storeys dedicated to parklands, and gardens, and others for activities like swimming for the community. Several storeys will be the schools and crèches. Some will even have universities over several floors! And of course supermarkets and theatres.
The pollution problem will be better controlled in 2050. Waste will be turned into fuel for the buildings, and I see wind turbines at the top of many buildings, and of course solar panels. Japan will once again be the leaders in this field. Their nous in combining technology and buildings will see them have a renaissance on the world stage. Korea will also be leading in this field; however this will be slowed down by the reunification process.
Food will also be grown over several floors of these superstructures. It will be done in “closed-loop” systems, where the water and fertiliser etc are all recycled in a bio-dome type manner.
As buildings become “cities”, there will be walkways that start to connect these cities. And further down the track I see pod transporters that travel between these superstructures. Much like every suburb has a different feel and culture in today’s big cities, so too will the buildings. I also see ultra-fast travelators between buildings and there big stories of accidents where people have come off at speed and met their doom.
I do see nature as being part of the appeal of these buildings. They will be used to filter air and help with capturing C02. Of course, the whole building will be wi-fi enabled, or should I say “next-fi” connected. There will be a new type of safer wi-fi, but I don’t know how to explain it because I don’t understand what I am being shown! We will all be connected without having to put up with the electronic smog.
An advantage of living in these super structures is less crime. With these superstructures being “smart hubs” then there will be plenty of CCTV in public areas and also the building will know where you are all the time as it will be able to track you via your personal devices (if you want it to, people in 2050 are sensitive to having freedom around this).
I also see some insane entertainment centres. Virtual reality games will be mind-blowing. You can go into other worlds, fight in faux battles, go back to live in an 18th century village, or have communal sex, all in virtual reality. It will be THE thing to do with your spare time. A date on a virtual gondola in virtual (now mostly sunken) Venice will be the thing to do.
Another great breakthrough is that of air travel. It will make the air travel of 2014 look clunky and barbaric. Flying in 2050 will seem like a high tech dream. Travel times will be cut dramatically, and I see clear/transparent planes, so passengers can see across the world and the sky. Fuels will be clean and noise will be non-existent. You will carry a card with you that will be pre-programmed and you slot it in. The seat will conform to your favourite position, pre-selected entertainment will start or your favourite e-book, and you meal selections will be pre-loaded. Luggage won’t be taken off you, it will stay with you in the roomier cabin.
As for energy generation, there will be innovation after innovation in this field. I see the word “supergrid”. There will be a one-world supergrid that will carry energy to places it is needed. Green technology is now the norm and I see some energy being harvested in space. Again, I don’t understand what I am being shown! My brain is too 2017. But a lot of clean safe energy will come from outside of the atmosphere.
A really good breakthrough is in gene therapy. Embryos can be screened and genetic flaws eliminated so we will see humans without disabilities live normal happy and healthy lives without pain.
Space tourism will be no big deal. It will be like someone in 2017 taking a cruise. Although I do see some sort of fiery disaster on a civilian vessel around 2051 that makes people nervous to go into space again. But you will be able to float around for a week and see space with your own eyes. It is a pioneering era for space holidays!
Asteroid mining will be taking place, with a few mishaps. I see one asteroid being knocked off course by human intervention and hitting the moon. This will cause great debate and “what ifs” about an asteroid hitting the earth. There will be also be years of legal wrangling over who owns what asteroid. Enter the extraterrestial lawyers! Yes your children will be given the opportunity to study to become space lawyers! A few will become very famous due to some big court cases.
There will be big news stories around this time about space junk, and efforts to clean it up and recycle it. It will be a united affair however, a union will be formed by space-faring countries to work together to clean it up. I see the name “junknik” being used. Thanks Junknik, our space needed a good cleansing.
