Share

Matthew Gilbert, better known to his OnlyFans subscribers as ‘The Irish Viking,’ has landed on Revenue’s latest tax defaulters list, owing over €88,000 last year.

Well… we all love a bad boy.

The Co Wicklow content creator, who has built a massive social media following, underreported his income by €61,734, according to details released today. Additional penalties of €18,412 brought his total debt to €88,681. Revenue’s investigation into Gilbert’s finances was part of a level 2 audit conducted last year.

Gilbert previously revealed in a 2021 interview with The Sunday World that he earned more than €54,000 per month from roughly 3,000 paid subscribers on the adult content platform. He’s also gained a significant presence on TikTok, boasting over 2.5 million followers, and more than 200,000 followers on Instagram. He claimed that around 85% of his OnlyFans audience is female.

Taxes are boring and hard, though and it might have just been a mistake. If you are eating healthy and looking hot all the time you might not be able to keep all the balls in the air.

In addition to his personal tax issues, Gilbert’s business, Matty Irish Viking Limited, was also named in the defaulters report. The Dublin-based company, registered on Dame Street, owed €266,693 after under-declaring corporation tax, PAYE, PRSI, USC, and VAT by €191,464. The company was established in March 2021, five months after Gilbert’s OnlyFans debut.

According to Revenue, Gilbert and his company have since settled their outstanding debts in full. So it’s all good, he’s square with the law. Phew.

OnlyFans and Matty Gilbert

The OnlyFans Star told the Sunday World that he regretted not setting up the OnlyFans account sooner.

“I set it up four months ago but I wish I had done it sooner. I have 3,000 subscribers and I charge $20 a month. And I think people think it is easy money but it is a lot of work, I put up daily posts and communicate with all my fans through direct messages. It’s a 24-hour job because they want constant attention and I have fans all over the world in different time zones.”

No matter how hot you are, people, you gotta pay your taxes!!
