Irish Heatwave: Old Moore Predicts Tropical Weather

Share

We’ve seen a number of Old Moore’s predictions come true in the last few weeks, and right now Ireland is having an insane tropical heatwave. Old Moore never fails to shock and amaze us with his prediction accuracy, and he has once again made a correct prediction about this oven we now call our country with the Irish heatwave.

Old Moore’s Prediction

In the 2025 edition of the Old Moore’s Almanac, our very own Old Moore predicted some unprecedented warmth during our summer months. Our weather is getting so warm that there is simply no point in booking a summer holiday. In his prediction, Old Moore recommended a staycation for the unbelievable highs of 30 and 31 degrees Celsius. Quick, find the nearest pool and chuck the kids in before we all sizzle!

He specifically outlined that the weather will get tropical. And with these temperatures, we are surely nothing short of a vacation to some fabulous island nation. Who needs the Maldives when you have Ireland in a heatwave, apparently. Old Moore says staycation, and so be it!

Irish Heatwave

Currently, Ireland is experiencing some unbelievable heat, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees in various places around Ireland. As Old Moore predicted, these temperatures are typically unusual for Ireland, however we have been seeing an increasing amount of hot summers in the past few years.

Us Irish people are not built to handle the heat. Half of us will be melted, and the other half will be more red than a lobster.  Fortunately for our skin cancer rates and lack of air-conditioned homes, autumn is on its way and hopefully we’ll get to cool down a little in the coming colder months. Right now, we’ll have to survive off some 99 ice creams and jumping into the freezing ocean water at the Forty Foot.

Take it from the Australians, the pros at heat and sun. Slip on some weather-appropriate and sun safe clothes. Slop on some sunscreen to protect our blindingly pale skin. Slap on a hat and some sun glasses before we go blind. Slip, slop, slap. Stay cool and stay safe, Ireland. Try not to roast completely and enjoy your beach staycations!
