COMPATIBILITY: CANCER

Cancer and Aries

This is an unlikely combination is usually hard to match. You know what happens when you put fire into water, the fire is smothered and goes out. But if you put water on fire the water sizzles and turns into steam. So too with this relationship. The outgoing Aries finds it difficult to deal with the deep moo- ruled Cancer’s caring and mothering nature. In the beginning there can be a sexual attraction that will be both exciting and fascinating, but when this quickly fades the Aries wants to go out to play, while the Cancer wants to stay in and watch TV. The more aggressive Aries becomes, the more defensive Cancer is, herein lies the potential of the decline of this relationship.

Cancer and Taurus

This has the makings of a good combination. Both are home-lovers, desiring security and affection. Both have very similar goals, Taurus is ambitious for money and security, and Cancer is maternal and loving. These similar interests and desires make for a harmonious mating. This is a good combination as both signs are attracted to each other’s sense for feelings and emotions. The Taurean placid nature is a good balance for Cancer’s moodiness, and both being passionate home-loving people, like to make an effort to make their home a very special place. On every level they have a lot going for them. They are both highly sexual, but on the other hand, they can be, at times, plain-spoken.

Cancer and Gemini

Passionate Cancer fulfils Gemini’s physical needs, and Gemini’s cheerfulness brightens Cancer’s disposition. But all too soon Gemini’s tendency to play at love, wounds oversensitive and gentle Cancer. The flirtatious Gemini can make the Cancer feel very insecure, moody and clingy. At the end of the day these two will probably have too little in common to make for a long-term relationship. Cancer needs security and domesticity; Gemini loathes being restricted or tied down, and finds it difficult to be constantly patient with Cancer’s moodiness.

Cancer and Cancer

This combination can be a beautiful harmony of mysterious romance or a deep well of silence. When they are working well together it’s a sensitive, caring relationship. But when one of this Moon-ruled duo step out of line, it can become a snappy, moody, unpleasant environment. Cancers find it difficult to forgive any transgression or hurt, and no matter how far into the past it comes from, it could be thrown in their partner’s face at any time. Both sexes are basically maternal, and both will probably desire a large brood. Deeply romantic, they will each appreciate any effort the other makes to improve the home environment. The simplest thing can set the mood for romance, love, passion and babies.

Cancer and Leo

Usually this is a good combination, since the Moon reflects the light of the Sun. They both enjoy the good life, being impulsive and brutally frank they tend to know exactly where they stand with each other. Love can be a fire of passion between these two energetic physical people, with the sun dominating Leo and reflecting off the silvery moon, both bask in the light of the other. The brighter the sun shines, the more the moon will reflect back at light, together they will tend to move in harmony. While Leo is always desiring the limelight, they will seldom forget the Cancer in the background. This duo have everything going for them, and are likely to live in harmony for many years.

Cancer and Virgo

This is an unlikely mix, and if this relationship works, it will be for all the wrong reasons. In the beginning this duo will seem to look like a match made in heaven. But it will suddenly change when the Virgo starts to organise the passionate moon-ruled Cancer. While both are home-loving, the affectionate libido of Cancer will not be satisfied by Virgo’s direct and cool approach to intimate matters in the relationship. At the first sign of the Cancer becoming flirtatious and tactile, the conventional, conservative Virgo will run for cover. If the Virgo can calm that demanding nature, and the Cancer can understand the Virgo reserve, this duo can find a happy middle ground, may work well enough to keep both very happy.

Cancer and Libra

These are two very different and temperamental signs. When they are together, they are not always compatible, because Cancer desire for security is often threatened by the Libra’s adventurous nature. When Cancer ignores Libra’s great desire for attention, the Libra is likely to sulk or get moody. With Cancer being ruled by the moon and Libra by Venus, there should be lots of common ground for these two to work on, particularly in the love and romance area, where both are tactile and adventurous. This combination usually manifests itself in a strong physical attraction at first; however, there are two strong wills at work here. The romantic Cancer’s imaginative nature is just what the Libra is looking for, while the Libra’s balance maybe just what the Cancer is looking for.

Cancer and Scorpio

These two water signs immediately connect on a deep level, and will have an instinctive understanding of each other’s needs and desires. The strong sensuous Scorpio should make a good mate for the gentle home-loving Cancer. While very different, both may suffer from jealousy from time to time, but this will quickly evaporate when they move back into their ‘love bird’ mode. The Scorpio is well able to deal with the Cancer moodiness, both are basically maternal, home-loving, and will probably desire a large brood. Deeply romantic, they will each appreciate any effort the other makes to improve the home environment.

Cancer and Sagittarius

This is an unlikely long-term combination but is usually hard to match. Try mixing fire and water, it’s not the easiest thing to do, water puts fire out, and fire turns water to steam. So too with this relationship. The adventurous Sagittarius finds it difficult to deal with the deep moon-ruled Cancer’s caring and mothering nature. In the beginning there can be a sexual attraction that will be both exciting and fascinating, but when this period of bliss fades and the Sagittarius wants to go off on one of their great adventures, the Cancer will fall into one of their blue moods.  The Cancer will have great admiration for the Sagittarian outgoing nature, yet the moment the Sagittarius tries to put it into action, the Cancer becomes clingy and possessive.

Cancer and Capricorn

This devoted duo are opposites in Zodiac terms, and opposites do attract. Capricorn’s logical and cautious attitude is a natural attraction for the homely maternal Cancer. Both have a deep desire for security, where the ambitious Capricorn needs a secure home base to work from and a non-threatening partner to provide for.  The Capricorn on the other hand is what Cancer needs; they need nothing more than to have a sense of purpose and someone to cluck over. The mother hen Cancer (male or female) will be happiest being back at base looking after the brood while the Capricorn will enjoy being out there providing.

Cancer and Aquarius

The outgoing and social Aquarius may prove to be too much for the home-loving Cancer. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of eccentricity, so the Aquarian does not under normal circumstances go well with the swinging moods of the Cancer moon. The Aquarius has a need to be independent and will often at a moment’s notice announce that they are off to some other part of the world to save some threatened species. Aquarius is the crusader of the Zodiac, always fighting for one cause or another. If these two somehow manage to get into a romantic relationship, they will very different languages and will probably take every word the wrong way. This duo are better keeping together as friends, where they will have great fun and lots of laughs.

Cancer and Pisces

As you might imagine, when these two get swept off their feet, it’s a fantasia of flashing colours and fireworks. Both of these watery folk feel on a very deep level, and although both will have their moments of gloom and doom, they will be soon back out in the sunshine making up. Emotional and intuitive, this pair will often be found at a parties ‘coo-cooing’ in the corner, even though they have been married twenty years. Because they are both so romantic, they are happiest with a partner who can express and receive love on that deep intuitive level.
