COMPATIBILITY: ARIES

Aries with Aries

It’s a battle of wills as these two Fire Signs come together, both insisting on being the dominant one, neither prepared to submit to being number two. It’s a passionate fire combination and seldom an easy relationship. When this relationship is good, it will be passionate, dynamic and outgoing. If both have a reasonable number of similar planetary positions in their chart, this relationship can be the adventure of a life-time. But on the other hand when it is bad, it will be really bad, fiery arguments, public disagreements and lots of recrimination. When an Aries-Aries relationship ends, it is usually a blistering and bitter affair.

Aries and TaurusThis can be an excellent combination, and makes for a successful romantic relationship or marriage. The Aries initiates action and is comfortable in taking the leadership role in the relationship. The Taurus holds a more grounded and structured rein, helping to contain the Aries nature, and allowing him or her think they are in control of the relationship. The dynamic Aries helps motivate the slower Taurus, helping to stimulate and keep them moving forward. What they are attracted to in each other, is also what they may grow to dislike over time. The attraction between these two is well founded. Aries is ruled by Mars, seeks out love and romance, and is attracted to Taurus’ nature – being ruled by Venus the goddess of love.

Aries and Gemini

At first glance it may seem that this Fire and Air mix may work well, and it will, only if this swift-moving combination finds a good common foundation to work from. The Aries and Gemini are both dynamic and challenging, but in very different ways. The Aries nature is passionate in a tactile way and much more physical, while the Gemini is dynamic and needs mental stimulation before they can be tactile in any way. While the Aries likes to lead, the Gemini is clever enough to let the Aries think he or she is leading. But at the end of the day you may be better off just staying colleagues or friends.

Aries and Cancer

This is an unlikely combination is usually hard to match. You know what happens when you put fire into water, the fire is smothered and goes out. But if you put water on fire the water sizzles and turns into steam. So too with this relationship. The outgoing Aries finds it difficult to deal with the deep moo- ruled Cancer’s caring and mothering nature. In the beginning there can be a sexual attraction that will be both exciting and fascinating, but when this quickly fades the Aries wants to go out to play, while the Cancer wants to stay in and watch TV. The more aggressive Aries becomes, the more defensive Cancer is, herein lies the potential of the decline of this relationship.

Aries and Leo

In the beginning the smooth Aries predator immediately takes the leading role in plying the Leo’s ego with all the desired affirmations. The Leo feels quite at home being in the spotlight, and cleverly uses his or her charisma to lure the Aries. They are both fiery and romantic, and they compromise quickly. Their sex life is passionate and indulging, and infidelity unlikely because they tend to find what they want in each other, and have not got the compulsion to stray. Both are attracted to each other’s fiery nature and neither are prepared to back away from any challenging issues. They usually unite and find a common approach to a passionate future.

Aries and Virgo

This can be a most contrary duo, and quite similar to the combination of Aries and Gemini. Virgo being ruled by Mercury tends to be pernickety, analytical and critical of the outgoing nature of Aries The Aries – being expansive and outgoing – finds it difficult to fathom why the Virgo wants to analyse every aspect of everything.  This couple will probably fall down in every area possible; the Aries will want to spend every penny, while the Virgo will wear out the calculator totting up the savings. The house-proud Virgo will spend all day cleaning and will give up in total despair at the untidiness of the Aries, ending up making war not love.

Aries and Libra

In the beginning there can be a powerful attraction between these two opposites. But quickly they find gaps in each other’s approach to love and life, the outgoing Aries wants to play, so too does the Libra, both like socialising. Libra wants peace and harmony and to plan the night out, while Aries is attracted by the bright lights and music, and wants to go with the flow. Although a wonderful combination of Mars and Venus, this duo can be a one-night or one-month wonder. But in the end they have two very different sets of desires, in the long term the Libra will look for someone less demanding.

Aries and Scorpio

Love can be a fire of passion between these two energetic physical people. Mars dominates both signs, and it has all the hallmarks of a love-hate relationship. It has all the ingredients to make a torrid affair a wonderful experience, but a long-term relationship or marriage may require more than either of these two Martian-ruled people can possibly afford to give. Both of these forceful personalities want to control and dominate the relationship. The Aries’ many outside interests plays on the Scorpio’s jealous emotional nature, and in the end may prove the undoing of this dynamic duo.

Aries and Sagittarius

This combination usually makes an ideal partnership, they are both forceful and outgoing spontaneous people. This Mars-Jupiter dynamic duo are active and extravagant, and quickly fall into step with each other on a deep level. They both enjoy the good life. Being impulsive and brutally frank, they tend to know exactly where they stand with each other. The Sagittarius Centaur quivers at the mention of commitment and settling down, while the Aries see this as a blessing in disguise. It’s not that the Centaur does not make a good long-term mate, they do, it’s just they prefer a more loose arrangement, one that is less claustrophobic.

Aries and Capricorn

This is a combination of opposites, with the Aries being restless, fiery and impulsive, while the Capricorn is ordered and patient, liking everything to be done in a certain sequence. In the beginning the Capricorn finds the Aries’ outgoing nature exciting and attractive, prepared to take chances the Capricorn would never dream of taking. These two signs have a strong desire to dominate, but in very different ways. The Aries is out front leading the charge, and will probably succeed by having the courage to try, while the Capricorn is back in the war office, planning and plotting how to best use the troops. At the end of the day the Capricorn will not be able to keep up with the Aries dynamic and impulsive nature.

Aries with Aquarius

When this duo meet it is the start of an adventure of unpredictable events. They are both well-suited temperamentally, both being active, ambitious, and enjoying a wide range of similar interests. Aries finds the Aquarian unpredictability exciting, while the Aquarius may never feel entirely secure with the Aries’ fiery temperament. But they will not let it get in the way once committed. The Aquarius may or may not allow the Aries to take the leading role, depending on their whim of the day, and will quickly put the Aries firmly in his or her place if they step out of line. Both are equally passionate and eager for adventure, and can make a wonderful couple.

Aries and Pisces

A relationship between the first of the fire signs and the last of the trinity of the water signs is a seductive, mysterious adventure. Pisces, being romantic and deep, will enthral the Arian romantic nature, probably to a depth that Aries simply cannot fathom. Pisces, ruled by Neptune Lord of the Oceans, is also planet of the higher mind, quite a combination! Aries and Pisces complement each other in many areas. If the Aries can pull the Pisces out of that shell, and the Pisces can keep the Aries in, this will be a meeting of the most passionate kind.
