Would you dare to apply to be married to someone you didn’t know?

Regional radio station iRadio is doing something unbelievable with “iRadio’s Three Strangers and a Wedding” – a social experiment to find out if love is really blind, resulting in two people marrying on the day they meet.

The station is running the social experiment, which will see one bride and two potential grooms taking part. The jaw-dropping element of “Three Strangers and a Wedding” is that the bride and grooms won’t actually meet but will only talk to each other on air before the big day arrives – on June 16th.

Three strangers – the bride and two final grooms – will meet for the first time at the altar on June 16th – she will then choose one of the two… and not only will they be meeting for the first time, they’ll be getting married, live on iRadio. The rejected groom will have to leave the ceremony along with his wedding party.

The social experiment was recently revealed on iRadio’s breakfast show – Cooper and Oonagh in the Morning. Since the revelation the station says it has been “overwhelmed” by the number of applicants who are eager to take part – adding that anyone who is looking for more information or who is interested can contact them via their website, iRadio.ie.

Although the feedback has been largely positive, some callers have openly criticised the concept and iRadio’s website even includes a complaints page for unhappy listeners to air their grievances.

To ensure the bride and final selected groom have the best day possible, iRadio has booked a wedding reception at the wonderful Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone. The station will also foot the bill for the honeymoon, dresses, suits, cake, photography, entertainment and the stag and hen parties – but at all times it is being stressed that this isn’t a competition to win a wedding, rather it’s an experiment to see if two complete strangers can meet, wed and live happily ever after.

Will looks over rule the heart on the day? The Worlds Greatest Social Experiment is HERE. iRadio’s Three Strangers and a Wedding.
